About Me

My photo
The past two years have been all about adjusting to motherhood and finding my way through it via craft. The out pouring of this came in the form of my blog Aunty Mum. Now I'm finally finding my feet, the children are growing, I'm getting some independence and my interests are morphing . . . into cooking. Join me in exploring creativity in many forms, food, fabric, frowns and laughter.

Our Strangest Visitor

This morning the children were all agitated at the breakfast table. "Quick, quick" they said. "Come see the pheasant on the patio." I rushed over thinking they'd gone mad. In fact, they weren't quite made enough. There, strutting across the patio like he owned this place was young Mr Peacock.

We've had all manner of bird friends on our lawn gorging on grass seed. We've had a beautiful white dove, golden chaffinches, big black birds wallowing in the puddles from the sprinklers. But today was a first. Where did he come from? A question with no answer. Will he be back? Let's see tomorrow morning.
