About Me

My photo
The past two years have been all about adjusting to motherhood and finding my way through it via craft. The out pouring of this came in the form of my blog Aunty Mum. Now I'm finally finding my feet, the children are growing, I'm getting some independence and my interests are morphing . . . into cooking. Join me in exploring creativity in many forms, food, fabric, frowns and laughter.

Is it the truth?

I thought I saw thirty thieves underneath my bed,IMG_20120829_085058
I thought I felt thirty moths fluttering round my head.

I thought I saw a monster coming down the path,
I thought I saw a dinosaur swimming in the bath.

My mother thinks I am crazy.
She thinks I make it up.
So I don’t think I will tell her,
There’s a spider in her cup.

This was Rogan’s poetry recital for school. He gave me a notice on Monday morning informing me he needed any props ready for poetry recital .  . .  you guessed it . . . Monday morning. Arghhhhh! So I grabbed some dark brown yarn, a tea cup, some cling film and whipped up this for his recital. He didn’t make the finals as nerves got the better of his memory but he did his best!

  1. That is a great poem! When I first looked at the spider I thought that it was real! Great looking prop!

    1. Thank you, I was patting myself on the back for that one. Nothing like a bit of pressure to make you creative.
